Michael’s desire to develop and empower leaders began in high school when he attended Worldview Academy. And his heart for ministering to men was instilled by his father. Michael’s dad worked through “Raising a Modern Day Knight: A father’s Role in Guiding His Son to Authentic Manhood” by Robert Lewis. In college, Michael helped bring Lewis’ Men’s Fraternity to campus as a ministry to the guide the young men at LeTourneau University. (This is a key element in the story of Ironcenturion too. Read that story here.)
Growing up, Michael lived as a missionary in Russia in the mid-90s. Travelling to new lands starting at the age of 10 helped build his sense of adventure.
Just after college, Michael and two friends Kayaked 850 miles of the Mississippi River. Paddling all the way from Illinois to New Orleans. There’s a full write up here for those who like details.
Michael enjoys time in the outdoors, working on his Jeep, and photography.
He and his wife Melissa live in Dallas.
